Hi, my name is Kate Welter. I’m a Yankton native and am currently attending graduate school at the University of South Dakota.
I grew up taking dance classes and was involved in many sports growing up. After graduating high school, I attended college to later find myself struggling to eat a balanced diet... I knew I change. In 2012, I was introduced (by my now husband) into road cycling. We set goals and followed a balanced meal plan and lost 50 lbs that year! I felt great- better than ever which snowballed into continuing this lifestyle. Eventually, I was introduced to Beachbody programs and became very focused on fitness and nutrition. Through the years of this lifestyle transition I found a love for PiYo, TurboKick, and most recently got certified in my first love: cycling!
I strongly believe every challenge we go through, every little success along this journey is worth it all. I have encountered a few hiccups, including a spinal disc herniation and surgery to correct it. In short, I’m doing great and sometimes these little hiccups become mind resets and blessings in disguise. I feel better than ever and since I have adapted this lifestyle and become a part of the Empower Crew. I would not trade my health for the world!
